What sizes do beds come in?

Recommendations

Single: Both single and double sizes are approximately 188cm long, which may be too short for many adults, especially men.

King Single: This size is a popular choice for parents buying for a child moving out of a cot. They provide enough space for the child to "grow into" and will last through teenage growth spurts that will defeat a standard single-sized bed.

Double: These are increasingly chosen by parents for teenage bedrooms (and even for younger children) in order to give parents a more comfortable place to rest when reading together or catching up on the day at bedtime.

Queen: The added length and width of a queen bed as compared to a double can make all the difference in comfort, especially for couples, making it a popular mattress size. Queen size is a good choice for guest rooms, smaller master bedrooms and for couples who prefer close quarters. It's also a great choice for single sleepers who are also "sprawlers".

King and Super King: These sizes are increasingly popular as the size of modern houses and bedrooms increase. King and Super King sizes are the best choice for couples that want to maximise personal sleeping space. It's also the best bet to accommodate that time on Sunday morning when children may pop into bed - or if the pets in your house have mattress privileges!
